Let’s Get Visual: Strategies and Solutions for Visual Learners

Individuals with developmental disabilities, ADHD/ADD, Autism Spectrum disorders, and other anxiety challenges often struggle with auditory processing. Many of these individuals process what they see and experience more efficiently than what they hear. Learn how picture language systems, visual organizers, and visual stress management systems help these individuals navigate life in their homes, at school and in the community.Come prepared to be inspired to create communication supports, schedules, task organizers, chore charts, activities binders, and visual social and behavioral solutions.

About the Instructor:

Jody Hofer Van Ness is a licensed educator with a Master’s Degree in Education and a certificate in autism. She has a background in classroom teaching, school administration, and family education, but is quick to point out that her greatest learning opportunity has been her 21 year old son who lives with autism. Currently Jody serves as a Pyschoeducational Consultant for the many divisions of Fraser. She also owns and operates Eye Box Tools, Inc. which provides a line of products for supporting individuals who benefit from visual strategies and solutions.
