Emotional Intelligence can be described as the ability to perceive emotion, integrate emotion to facilitate thought, understand emotions and to regulate emotions to promote personal growth. People with high emotional intelligence are particularly good at establishing positive social relationships with others, and avoiding conflicts, fights, and other social altercations. They are also particularly good at understanding psychologically healthy living and avoiding such problems as drugs and drug abuse.
Dr. Schur will discuss the impact that emotional intelligence has on the behavior or our cliental, and how to identify and promote it in children who have cognitive and academic limitations.
