An adult who is receiving services is engaging in challenging behaviors. His staff responds by telling him that he must go to his room, and that he must stay there until he calms (the State prohibits this).

A co-worker is out of gas and is trying to get home from work. She tells you she is borrowing $5 from a person who she is giving services to.

You are at a baseball game, and the person who you are working with trips and falls to the ground—bruising his elbow.  He normally has no problems with balance or walking.

While doing a visit in the house of a vulnerable adult, you discover that his pipes have been frozen for the past week due to tampering with and breaking the furnace.

Mary is considered a vulnerable adult.  She has a daughter who is her financial conservator.  Mary complains to you that the daughter is using too much of Mary’s money to buy things for herself.

Doug and Tom are housemates.  While eating dinner one night, Tom became upset with Doug and slapped him in the face.  There is a brief red mark, but no medical care is needed.

While at the local gas station with a person getting services, the clerk tells you that the staff who was with your person yesterday was yelling and swearing at him.

When reporting maltreatment for a minor, you are only required to report to your supervisor.

You can fulfill your requirement of reporting maltreatment of a vulnerable adult by telling your supervisor.

Once a supervisor determines that a vulnerable adult report is not needed, staff are prohibited from calling the common entry point.
