Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity Workshop #1: Creating Brave Space and the Conditions for Belonging

Belonging is at the intersection of diversity, equity, and inclusion. What does it mean to create a workplace culture of belonging? This training will introduce the AMAZEworks framework for creating the conditions for belonging. We will establish a brave space for participants to enter into conversations that invite self-reflection and meaningful dialogue, foster empathy and understanding across differences, and lay a foundation for deeper, long-term diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging work.

About your Presenters

Rebecca Slaby, AMAZEworks Executive Director

Rebecca Slaby, Executive Director of AMAZEworks, leads AMAZEworks in working with schools, communities, and organizations to create equity and belonging for children and adults. With a MEd from DePaul University, she has 15 years of experience teaching middle school humanities/social studies. She has been a racial justice facilitator for the YWCA Minneapolis and is a trained cultural competency facilitator for the Professional Educators Licensing and Standards Board for the state of Minnesota. She is a Qualified Administrator (QA) of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and has presented at the Overcoming Racism, Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, Forum on Workplace Inclusion, and local, regional, and national education conferences. She holds a certificate of Executive Leadership from the University of St. Thomas and teaches courses on equity-based pedagogy at the University of Minnesota.

Jenni Bratulich, AMAZEworks Director of Development and Partnerships
Jenni Bratulich works closely with clients to facilitate equity consulting and training partnerships. She is a Qualified Administrator (QA) of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), offers workshops to explore and understand the CliftonStrengths Assessment and leads workshops on implicit bias, identity/stereotype threat, and the foundations of Anti-Bias Education. She has worked in school administration and education for the last 15 years. With her experience in education and a degree in Sociocultural Studies, she has always sought to help create, encourage, and sustain meaningful communities of belonging. Before joining the AMAZEworks team, Jennifer spent four years as the Director of Development at Friends School of Minnesota.
