Understanding Prediabetes and Supporting Healthy Living

Prediabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough yet to be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.  But without lifestyle changes, adults and children with prediabetes are at high risk to develop type 2 diabetes.  As a support staff, you have a great opportunity of helping your person reduce the risks of getting diabetes by supporting them with healthy eating and increasing physical activity.

  3. What are healthy foods to consider in reducing the risk of diabetes.
  4. How to read nutrition labels.
  5. How to control portion sizes.
