Vehicle Safety for Transporting People With Disabilities

This class is geared toward making staff more aware of special considerations when transporting people who have developmental disabilities. Topics of this class include behavioral issues, securing wheelchairs, loading and unloading vans, maneuvering passenger vans, and defensive driving basics.

  • Increase in staff confidence for transporting consumers,
  • Increased sense of security for the consumers.

About the Instructor:

Jason Hoffrogge, is the training director for Orion Associates, a human resources agency for companies working with people who have disabilities. Jason has over 20 years of experience in working with people who have disabilities in residential, vocational, and crisis settings. Jason has also been a part-time firefighter and first responder for the past 14 years.
